When chaos breaks across the newly-formed European Federation, against all odds, the Sunrise City strives. Its wealth and thriving economy are maintained by an authoritarian State that imposes a meritocratic society. Everyone has their place in society, designed by birth, or else they will be deported into the chaotic, lawless Sunset City, where poverty and its migrants are kept prisoners by a wall and its border patrols.

When Justyna Lubomirska takes matters into her own hands to try and find the missing Anneliese Tänzer after the deportation of her friend's son, she finds herself trapped in the armed resistance's plans. The Metanoia Army, watching from afar, slowly threatens to crush the perfect order of the Sunrise City. The secret lies in the words of the martyr Dessie O'Shaunnessey and his theory of metanoia, promised to one day unite the city.

This is a story of love and friendship, of loss and faith, of trauma and resilience. Most of all, it is the intimate story of resistance of those forgotten across a wall.

Theodore is an economist. He has always had a talent for numbers. So much that he has learned to put a number on everything, to equate everything in this life to a value.

In twenty-seventeen, after the resignation of the Prime Minister and his replacement with another government, Theodore is invited to Parliament to contribute with his brilliance towards solving a financial crisis.

His solution is simple: eradicate art. Erase culture. Destroy every monument. Close down museums.

Seven years later,  as he comes home from work and finds his house unexpectedly empty, he is kidnapped by a rebel group devoted to salvaging the remaining artworks from the black market.

The ringleader is his sister Christina, the photographer who once failed in making her brother see the error of his ways.

All she wants to do, she says, is to give him a lesson. And for one last time, Christina will explain what it means to be an artist.

From that moment on, Theodore's perfect life will spiral out of control and his once defenseless little sister becomes his worst nightmare.

All we had together was one day. I went back to that same day for years and years, with only one purpose: to change it, to alter the past and get the future I wanted, a future with her.

I wanted to change my world, but I never changed the world.

And the world crashed against us.
